In Mulholland Open Space Preserve, animals that are under a person’s control are permitted on the paved portion of Donald Drive without a leash.

Rancho Laguna Park is authorized as an off leash dog run area:
- April 1 to September 30: Park opening to 9:00 am and 6:00 pm to park closing.
- October 1 to March 31 park opening to 9:00 am and 4:00 pm to park closing.
MMC 12.08.180 (Animals) states that off-leash animals will not be allowed in any section of Rancho Laguna Park during the time of any event approved or sponsored by the Town.
Off-leash hours are cancelled for the dates below due to large events approved or sponsored by the Town:
Tuesday, July 2: PM hours
Wednesday, July 3: AM hours
Saturday, July 13: PM hours
Sunday, July 14: AM hours
Thursday, July 18: PM hours
Friday, July 19: AM hours
Saturday, October 5: PM hours
Sunday, October 6: AM hours
